A Fabled Youth There was a prince who yearned for more, Than palace walls and marble floors, He dreamed of days of youth and play, But kingly duties filled his days. There was a prince with dreams so grand, To run and play on golden sands, To feel the wind caress his hands, And taste the joys that youth demands. There was a prince with heart so pure, Who longed to laugh and dance for sure, To seek adventure, to endure, But duty called, and youth demurred. There was a prince with soul so wise, Who saw beyond his kingdom's size, And worked to make it treasured, prized, But never felt youth's sweet surprise. There was a prince who longed to roam Through fields and hills, to find his home To leave behind his royal cloak And breathe the air, a life bespoke There was a prince, whose life was true, And all his work, he did pursue, But there remained one wish he knew, To have lived his fabled youth anew. There was a prince who ruled with grace, And kept his land in a steady pace, A leader born for his own place, a fabled youth he couldn't chase. There was a prince who had a name Mhul, his youth was but a flame A fabled tale, a dream to hold For royal duties filled his soul. A poem by, badbunny | |
